Location:Wonderfully located on a white sandy beach at Belle Mare on the east coast, 50 minutes from the airport, lies the stunning and sophisticated Beau Rivage. 2. BERJAYA LE MORNE

Location: Set on long stretch of white sand beach in the Southwest of the island, approximately an hour from the airport and 40 minutes from port louis.

Acommodation: 196 rooms in malaysian style pavilions, each with air-conditioning, bath, shower, mini bar,television, telephone and balcony or terrace,.

Deluxe rooms are as above, overlooking the gardens. Club rooms overlook the beach and come with a complimentary fruit basket, flowers, pareo and T-shirt

Facilities: Main restaurant and speciality restaurant (supplements apply) and a choice of bars including a swim-up bar In hotels large pool. A variety of FREE land and water sports  are available (see ‘what's included’)  and the hotel has its own dive centre. LOCATION: Le Coco Beach is a uniquebeach resort situated in Belle Mare, on the east coast of Mauritius just 3 minutes from  Le Saint Geran. 6. LES PAVILLONS

Location:At Le Morne on the south-west of the island, about an hour from the airport, the hotel is set in tropical gardens which lead onto the beach.

Accommodation: 100 sea facing air-conditioned rooms in colonial style villas each with hairdryer, T.V. (with video and radio channels), mini-bar, telephone, safe, private bathroom with bath & shower and a terrace or balcony. 80 Standard rooms are on the ground floor. 20 Superior rooms are larger and are on the first floor.

Facilities: A main restaurant which is sea facing, small a la carte restaurant, day-time snack restaurant, bar, swimming pool, hairdresser and shops. free use of the sauna & gym. Opinion: A new hotel, Les Pavillons offer good facilities and a white sandy beach in a quiet and beautiful part of the island.

Location:On the east coast of the island, close to the small village of Trou d'eau Douce and overlooking the Ile-aux-Cerfs. Approximatelt 50 minutes from the airport.

Accommodation: Each of the 50 rooms is sea facing, has direct access to the beach and has a mini-bar, telephone, music system and bathroom with shower. There are also 2 garden facinf family rooms (priced on request).

Facilities: Le Cocotier restaurant, bar, swimming pool, T.V. & games room and a boutique. A free boat shuttle twice a day ferries guests to the Ile-aux-Cerfs from where parasailing or water-skiing are possible. Sailing, windsurfing and kayaks are available free from the hotel and diving, fishing and local excursions can all be arranged nearby. There is regular evening entertainment.

Opinion: A comfortable and friendly hotel in a fine location, providing guests with all the necessary ingredients for an enjoyable stay.

8. Le Grande Gaube

Location:Situated in attractive, spacious grounds in a secluded sandy bay at Grand Gaube on the north-east coast of Mauritius, Le Grand Gaube lies about one hour from the airport and just 15 minutes drive from the resort of Grand Baie with its selection of shops, bars and restaurants. The famous Pamplemousse Botanical Gardens are also just 15 minutes drive from the hotel.
Le Grand Gaube offers her guests a casual and relaxed atmosphere, with the optional All Inclusive meal plan represents excellent value. NB. The hotel will be closed for renovation between May and September 2002.

SEYCHELLES
 

Seychelles are scattered in the Indian Ocean some 1000 miles off Africa’s east coast and the island of
Mauritius. Of all the Oceanic Island groups the Seychelles exercise an irresistible attraction on the traveller.
For some it is undiluted escapism; for others it is the rich ecology and natural history- the coral reefs with their profusion of fish, the unique bird life or the shaded forest slopes clinging to granite mountains, rich with mangoes, breadfruit and bananas. Whatever attracts you first to these islands, you can be sure there are no others quite like them in the world. The glorious islands  around 100 of them, offer excellent water sports facilities.  MAHÉ
 The largest and main island of the Seychelles is Mahé, where the capital, Victoria, is located,
 together with a string of white sand beaches on the coast and lush, primeval rainforest dominating
 the mountainous interior. Victoria itself, reputedly the smallest capital in the world, is an
 idiosyncratic mix of British colonialism and local flavour, with an unhurried, laid-back atmosphere
 that typifies the country. Elsewhere on the island, which is only 27 km by 8 km, beautiful beaches
 are scattered around, leaving you to decide which is your favourite slice of paradise. Inland,
 mountain roads give stunning views of the island, revealing its natural beauty. Hire a mini-moke to
 explore under your own steam.

 PRASLIN
 Although only a 15-minute flight from Mahé, Praslin, the second largest island, is a world away,
 with a slower, more relaxed tempo to everyday life. Its outstanding glory is Vallée de Mai, a World
 Heritage listed rainforest of immense beauty and unique flora and fauna, including the rare Black
 Parrot and the suggestively shaped Coco de Mer. Steamy and exotic, Vallée de Mai is
 reminiscent of the ‘Garden of Eden’. Dotted around Praslin are a number of pretty coves and
 superb beaches.

 SMALLER ISLANDS
 With most of the activity taking place on Mahé and Praslin, numerous other islands dotted around
 are left in their pristine glory, and are yours to discover. A half-hour ferry ride brings you to the
 beautiful, quiet island of La Digue, a tiny island, where your transport is normally provided by
 ox-cart or bicycle. Unique Bird Island with its exotic local population, unspoilt Silhouette and a
 whole host more await you.

1.BERJAYA MAHE BEACH Location: Set in lush gardens on the west coast of the island of Mahe, the hotel looks out over the Indian Ocean and the tropical splendour of  Therese Island

Accommodation: 173 rooms with spectacular sea views. Standard are equipped with air-conditioning, twin or double beds, telephone, radio, T.V. with in-house movies, mini-bar, tea & coffee making facilities, hair dryer and bathroom with bath and shower. Junior suites are larger.

Facilities: La Voliere restaurant, the Montezuma bar and cafe, lobby bar overlooking the swimming pool, pool deck, tropical gardens and a small private beach. Opinion: Recently refurbished the Mahe Beach offers comfortable accommodation and is set in a picturesque part of the island. Enjoy the surroundings or use as a base to explore the Seychelles further.

 2.BIRD ISLAND LODGE

Location: On the south-west coast of Praslin, looking out over the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, lies the charming Black Parrot. Perched on a hillside next to the Coco de Mer, its sister hotel, Black Parrot is just 20 minutes from Praslin airport and offers her guests unique accommodation and high standards throughout. NB: A build up of seaweed may occur on the beach at certain times of the year, typically between May and October.

Location: Just half an hour's boat ride from Praslin, the informal Patatran Village is situated just above the north east coast of La Digue, with stunning views out to sea towards the neighbouring island. The fourth largest island in the Seychelles, the traditional mode of transport on La Digue is the ox-cart - bicycles can also be hired to explore this delightful, rustic island.

Lazare lies the first class Plantation Club. The hotel is in 180 acres of stunning,

SUNSET BEACH, MAHE -  intimate island retreat

Located some 30 minutes from the airport in a stunning position in a small secluded cove lapped by the warm, turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. The intimate Sunset Beach is a romantic hideaway offering al the ingredients for a truly relaxing break. Due to the lay out of the hotel, the Sunset Beach is not suitable for those with walking difficulties, and children under 10 are not accepted.
